CHOREOGRAPHY & FILM
Cassandra Tumasz is an award-winning choreographer whose work reaches both stage and screen. Known for her dynamic movement vocabulary and thoughtful storytelling, she creates pieces that captivate audiences and elevate performers.

Her original work "Chelonia" was selected for presentation at the American College Dance Association conference, showcasing her choreographic voice in a collegiate setting. Cassandra frequently choreographs for Debra Sparks Dance Works’ competition team and guest master classes, with her pieces earning accolades such as “Best Overall” and judge’s choice for “Best Technique.” She has also choreographed for Centre Stage on Main’s annual recital and CP Ice’s warm-up routines and master classes.

Cassandra creates solos, duets, and group works in a wide range of styles including ballet, jazz, tap, theater dance, contemporary, modern, lyrical, hip hop, stiletto heels, and acro. Her versatility allows her to tailor choreography to each dancer’s strengths while pushing artistic boundaries.

Her passion for dance on camera was ignited during a summer program in Los Angeles, CA, where she studied Dance & Film through Elon University under the mentorship of Jen Guy and Jay McMerty. Since then, her original dance films have been screened at national and international festivals including the Jacksonville Dance Film Festival, NC Dance Education Organization, Dance and New Media Conference, and the 24 Hour Dance Film Festival. She also co-founded Synaesthetic, a multimedia dance company that premiered eight unique films at the Fused Film Screening at Elon University.
